1973 Series 3 V12 E-Type Jaguar

This 1973 series 3 Jaguar E type was originally from California and was brought in 2019.

As you can see in the pictures, the car was initially left-hand drive and painted in British racing green with a black interior. Overall the car looked in good condition, but once we started to strip the vehicle for media blasting, we found a considerable amount of rust which required panel replacement and a substantial amount of welding.

You may notice a few modifications. Our customer has a passion for classics but on this occasion wanted to create the ultimate V 12 E-type. So we started the nut and bolt restoration by entirely stripping the car and media blasting in the shell.

The car has had a full respray in an Aston Martin paint colour, and once sprayed, we fully Dinamatted the vehicle. The V 12 engine has been fully rebuilt and converted to fuel injection controlled via an Emerald ECU.

Numerous other upgrades have been carried out during the rebuild, including but not limited to an aluminium bonnet, aluminium radiator with uprated cooling fans, alternator, high torque starter motor, poly bush suspension, and adjustable Koni adjustable shock absorbers, a complete stainless steel Classic Fabs exhaust system and a Mota Lita steering wheel.

The cooling system has been filled with Evans waterless coolant which we recommend to all our customers. We have fitted a complete Fosseway brake upgrade kit with six-piston front callipers and four-piston rears with grooved ventilated discs; we then filled the braking system with silicone brake fluid.T

he power steering has an upgraded rack, and a manual five-speed Toyota supra gearbox is now in situ. The interior is in the process of been finished in Bentley leather having bespoke legends to complement it. The car now sits on new Turino wheels, which finish the look off. We have yet to fit a new Aircon system, and custom-made bumpers front and rear.

Much thought and planning have gone into this car which will soon be finished to our exacting standards. Hopefully, our client will have his ideal version of a V 12 E-type. If you have any questions about the restoration so far or would like to know what is happening next, please do not hesitate to contact us.
