1972 Maserati Bora

One of only 564 Bora’s (with only 41 RH drive, which this is one) produced between 1971 and 1978. This original UK car’s first owner Mr Brian David Harris of Jersey still retains its original private plate BDH 606.

This example has only covered a mere 18,000 miles during its 49 years. Giorgetto Giugiaro designed it with a glorious mid-engine 4.7 V8 producing over 310 hp with a top speed of 170 mph, fully independent suspension, and room for luggage, unlike many of its rivals.

This car was complete and driving ( although not very well ), languishing in a barn for around 20 years under a polythene cover.

We embarked on a total nut and bolt restoration in November 2020, and once stripped and media blasted, we discovered damage to the offside front wing and door, which had been poorly executed. As no panels are available for this car, we needed to fabricate everything required. In addition, we manufactured new stainless steel sill covers with much tighter tolerances than the original.

We retained as much of the original interior as possible. Still, we had to replace the leather and Alcantara dashboard due to excessive fading, cigarette burns, and general wear and tear. The centre console and bulkhead were also recovered for the same reasons.

All other components have been repainted or replaced as required. The body has been repainted in its original Corso Rosso. The engine is still partway through its complete rebuild and should be fitted shortly.
These 70’s supercars are finally gaining the respect they deserve.
